April Income Report

Things in the blogging world slowed down a bit for my April income.

While finishing up my final semester of college (not only is ya girl a BA, she’s got the degree to prove it!) I took a small step back from blogging. I managed to bring in a little income for the month, but since my focus was on school, I didn’t put any real work into exploring potential opportunities online. But don’t worry, because that is all going to change this summer!

For my senior capstone project, I started an ebook.

The title is a dead giveaway, so I’ll just tell you outright: The Ultimate College Survival Guide. I’m really excited about it, but it’s only halfway completed right now. So just keep your ears open for presales and the launch date – it’ll be happening sometime over the next couple of months!

Aside from working on that (it’s my first BIG project for Belles & Bucks), I’ve been planning other projects that will pop up over the next six months. But I’m going to keep all of that a secret for now. 😉

Last month I mentioned how I was starting to use rebate apps like Ebates or Ibotta (affiliate links).

If you aren’t familiar with them or missed last month’s post, here’s a quick overview of the two programs. Using Ebates on your desktop is awesome because you can add a pin to your browser, and it will automatically tell you if a retailer has rebates available when you click onto their site. There are some in-store purchase options as well if you connect your card to your account. By doing so, it triggers the app to know you made a purchase in-store and you will receive your rebates.

Ibotta is something I mainly use for groceries. There are often generic coupons, like receive $0.50 back for any grocery store purchase. But they also have store specific and brand specific coupons available as well. I do my shopping at Meijer, so I already get a lot of coupons from my Meijer app. But the great thing is I can double up on my coupons between Meijer and Ibotta, saving money and getting rebates at the same time! Plus, I can connect my mPerks account to Ibotta so it automatically pulls my receipt information in. Other stores you may have to scan the receipt with your camera in order to receive the rebates.

My first cash back for Ebates came through in May, so I’ll be including that in next month’s recap. And since I’ve only reached $9.00 with Ibotta, I can’t withdraw any cash back yet. (You have to hit $20.00 to do so.)

Here’s a quick recap of my earnings from the past year.

All of the April income is from paid posts. Unfortunately, April was a very slow month. But I have faith that this is just a short dip in the trend and it will be brought up over the next few months!
