Well, the time has come to officially show you what’s in the box! As my fellow Pinterest lovers know, bridesmaid proposal boxes are a big deal. I mean, I’m pretty sure they replaced gender reveal parties on the trend charts ages ago.

While choosing the right partner is the most important choice for your wedding, choosing the right people to stand with you as you say your vows is a pretty close second. And since having the right people beside you is so critical to your special day, asking them to join you as bridesmaids should be just as special!

Since my first wedding wasn’t successful (clearly an indicator of the marriage that followed lol), I knew I had to make the second one count. So I jumped on the bridesmaid proposal boxes train. And what better way to propose to my bridesmaids in June than with a summery cocktail?

I chose to make lemons a theme for wedding festivities, as our wedding color is yellow.

(It’s a super cute story why we chose yellow – but I’ll save that for another day.)

For my bridesmaids, I created my own lemon drop martini kits. Perfect for our yellow/lemon theme, refreshing and consumable, and fun. I borrowed a recipe from The Noble Pig to create my custom recipe cards.

The martini glasses, stirrers, and sunglasses were ordered on Amazon (scroll for product links). Tito’s shooters were picked up at a local liquor store, and I made sure to purchase some fresh lemons and ultra fine sugar at our local market so my girls had all the ingredients needed for their martinis.

I found the photo storage boxes at JoAnn Fabric, but was slightly disappointed that they didn’t have enough of the lemon pattern for all eight. So I substituted with another summery yellow fruit (pineapple), and was able to make it work.

Two boxes had to be shipped – one of my sisters lives in Arizona, and my soon-to-be mother-in-law lives in Florida! – so I had minimal shipping costs. Making eight boxes total plus shipping the two cost around $200 total, but was so worth it.
