Welcome to Belles & Bucks

Let me be straight up with you about this blog: shit gets real.

We’re going to talk about college and how to survive it. We’ll talk about relationships and how to grow and maintain them with friends/family/partners as an adult. We’re going to get into the nitty gritty about motherhood and why it’s simultaneously the best and worst thing that can happen to you. And no lifestyle blog would be complete without bringing in a bit of the home and personal living.

What makes me so special, anyway?

For starters, I’ve been through a lot in life. And I mean a lot. I’ve spent eight years in and out of college finishing my bachelor’s degree, which I finally will have May 2019. During those years I attended four different schools, changed my major about a dozen times, joined a sorority, and brought a 0.0 cumulative GPA up to a 3.4 after dropping out of the same institution mid-semester two different times. And that’s just my academic career.

In the past decade I also got married and divorced, moved seventeen times (no exaggeration there, I counted), and had a child. Plus other less fun experiences which you’ll learn about the longer you stick around. And I did all of this while managing bouts of depression that nearly took my life at age 19, and anxiety that was so severe I used to have daily panic attacks.

So if you’re a little dark and twisty, enjoy sarcasm and snarky commentary on life, and don’t mind a bit of foul language… Well, you are in the right place, my friend.
