Baby #2 is expected to arrive mid-July, and we cannot wait! I found out very early on in November (literally one day after my missed period, approximately 4 weeks), though I had a hunch a week or two prior. Since then, I’ve been waiting for the right time to post this pregnancy announcement on the blog.
When I was pregnant with Elsie, I didn’t know until about week 5 or 6 – and the first suspicion I had was because a coworker told me I was “glowing” and asked if I was pregnant. I noticed my heart rate was higher than normal, I had light cramping, and I was constantly exhausted. I tested negative the first week or so after my missed period, and then around week 6 I finally got my first positive test. Later that year, Elsie was born!
It sounds a little unbelievable, I know. But between vivid nightmares, outrageous mood swings, and extreme fatigue, it was obvious something was up. The day after I missed my period, I took an at-home test. I was so pregnant the test line pulled almost all of the ink from the control line. 😂
As badly as I wanted to wait and have a big reveal for Sebastian, I was too excited to keep the news to myself. So I spent an hour in my office making this announcement card for him:
It was super easy to make — I used my Cricut pens for the text, and tried out my Foil Quill for the script font. (If you’re thinking about getting a Quill for your machine, I highly recommend it! Check out Hey, Let’s Make Stuff’s post on how to use it.)
Honestly, I’m terrible at keeping secrets, especially when I’m excited about it. Slowly we started sharing the news with family and close friends. Once we had our first doctor appointment at the beginning of this month, my excitement got the better of me and I had to share the news online!
Now that our pregnancy announcement is public, I’ll be sharing more baby and pregnancy content. So I hope you’re ready to hear all about my first trimester woes. (Don’t worry, there aren’t that many.) Spoiler alert: No major morning sickness — woo!
Now that I’m nearly through my second trimester, it feels like first trimester…
